KP deputation meet Sagar, demands passage of Shrine bill | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 22 : A deputation of Kashmiri Pandits today called on theMinister for Rural Development, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali MohammadSagar and put forth the demand of passage of Kashmir Hindu Temple and Shrine bill. The deputation comprised of BL Saraf, B L Bhat (Ex-MlC), Anil Dhar, A. K. Dewani, M L Munshi, Prof K NPandita, Dr R L Bhat, H L Bhat and A N Bhat While taking up the issue ofpassage of Kashmir Hindu Shrine Bills, the deputation stressed upon the need topreserve the age old heritage and Kashmiriyat, which, they said, has been thehallmark of Kashmir and its ethos. They alsostressed for early passage of the bill, while expressing anguish that certainvested interests are bent upon to scuttle it as the same would be against theirinterest. The minister assured thatdeputation that the government was keen to pass the bill. He said due tocertain reasons the passage of the bill got delayed. He further said thepresent government was making allefforts to preserve the culture and identity of the community. He further maintained that Kashmiri Pandits form inseparable part of the Kashmir. Commissioner/ Secretary Law,G H Tantary was also present. |
