Security to be tightened at Vaishnodevi ahead of Navratras | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 22: Security will be beefed up at the cave shrine of Mata Vaishnodevi in Katara ahead of the Navratra festival. The special teams for intelligence gathering and surveillance of strangers and other unwanted elements would be deployed during Navratra festival in Katra and enroute cave shrine of Mata Vaishnodevi, Deputy Inspector General of Police Udhampur Reasi Range Jagjit Kumar said. Kumar was speaking at a meeting called to review security arrangements and discuss necessary steps for smooth conduct of forthcoming Navratra festival in Katara. He asked police officers to be extra vigilant and launch an awareness campaign regarding presence and movement of suspicious elements in and around the holy town. During the meet security of the town and its peripheral areas was discussed, besides necessary instructions were given with regard to the traffic management, hotel checking, surprise checking of vehicles and passengers. |
