| Kashmira Vahini celebrated 'Navreh Milan" | | | early times report
Jammu, 23 Mar : "Navreh Milan" congregation on the eve of the new year was celebrated with traditional colour and deity by Kashmira Vahini in Martand Suraya Bhawan ,Jammu. A large number of Kashmiri Pandits in particular the women folk and youth participated. Child artist namely Sheen, Anikeet Hashia, Anushka Tickoo enthralled the audience. The celebrations started with a welcome address by Nirmala Tikoo and reciting of vedic verses by Brindawan sher. Noted poetess Santosh Nadan recited a touching poem in respect of aftermath of forced exile of the community. Another poetess Bimla Misri narrated similarly woes of what it meant to be away from the birth place in her poem. Kakaji Chhacthbali and Usha Kher left the audience spell bound, with their presentations of Kashmiri Bhajans.
A comedy item depicting humor and satire waspresented by Kanwal Peshin. P L Badgami stated that the Kashmira Vahini has a great role in the fight against the forces inimical to the cause of KP community. Dr. Agnishekhar, a convener , Panun Kashmir, greeted the community on this occasion. He said that the Kashmira Vahini is playing a stellar role in creating an exile consciousness in the KP community which is imperative in this struggle for achieving a separate 'Homeland' for the Kashmiri Pandits in the valley. Sudhesha Koul chief co-ordinator KashmiraVahini presented the vote of thanks with Dr. Khema Koul. |
