Government suffering from judgmental deficit | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 23: The State government especially the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is suffering from judgmental deficit. Speaking a function the on Friday , the CM asked media not to pass judgments. "There are so many examples before us where media passes judgments and the facts ultimately prove differently," said Omar. But Just a day before his own National Conference reacting to the statement of PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Beig had termed him a lunatic The statement reads: "J&K National Conference feels it fit to take no notice of what he (Baig) has said because his maverick behavior shows streaks of lunacy and the only thing he deserves is sympathy and better medical aid." The exact definition of lunatic as per the dictionary is insane person. The NC by terming a senior PDP leader a lunatic has clearly passed a judgement, which in its own words can't be reversed. The State government which was accused of suffering from 'trust deficit' by the Centre is now suffering from judgemental deficit. The CM had advised the media to rely on fact and not pass judgment, without ascertaining facts. The NC by issuing such judgmental statement has only reversed what Omar Abdullah preached the next day. In parliamentary democracy, the debates are moved on logics and facts. Beig had interpretated the facts to it own logic and presented a case before the public about the role of Sheik Abdullah. The NC, if it believes in democratic setup, could have countered it by its own logic and fact and had let the public know who is on the wrong side of history or in actions and deeds. But stopping to use such un-parliamentary language the NC has shown the colour of being a party relies on passing judgment, hiding facts, hides from public debate to enjoy the cushion of power. |
