Broaden your vision, Ruhullah tells youth
Govt jobs are meant for Ministers' relatives!

Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 24: The Pashu Palan minister today said that the government could not provide every one with a government job. He was addressing a book release function organized by the Animal Husbandry Department.
The minister is right. The government cannot give jobs to everybody unless he/she happens to be a relative or kith or kin of a worker of the ruling party.
Statistics show that most of the public sector undertakings run in loss. Some of them have been wound up. Thousands of persons have lost their livelihood in the process. Surprisingly nobody from the government has bothered to go into the reasons behind the collapse of public sector undertakings.
The recruitment in government departments is done either by the Public Service Commission (PSC) or the SSRB. However, in corporations it is an in- house affair. The board sits and takes vital decisions. It is here that the ministers and politicians adjust their relatives, friends and party workers.
The Cheshma Shahi milk plant in the summer capital earned revenue for the state for more than five decades. Twenty persons ran this prestigious milk plant effectively. But then came a time when it had to accommodate more than seventy persons. All of them had connections with ministers, MLAs and bureaucrats. It succumbed. Now a non-resident establishment runs the plant. Its production has not increased but the number of employees is much less today and the plant is flourishing with every passing day.
The State Road Transport Corporation has a similar story to tell. It is also running in loss. Most of the employees have been told to go for voluntary retirement. The corporation is on the death bed. Only a miracle can save it from dying down.
The minister also urged the youth to change their mindset. "They should not seek government jobs. Instead they must go for self employment schemes", he conveyed. Well, the ministers need to change their mindset as well. If they leave the corporations alone, half of the problem will be solved. Let them not choke these bodies to serve their selfish interests.
