Pak Senator hails PCI chairman | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu: A Pakistani Senator has appreciated Press Council of India (PCI) chairman, Justice Markanday’s bold actions and verdicts. In a detailed letter from Islamabad, Senator Syed Faseih Iqbal (H.I, S.I) has expressed gratitude for his valuable tips during Iqbal’s recent visit to India. “The people of Pakistan and the chairman Press Council of Pakistan, Shafaqat Abbasi hold your views in high esteem”, he said. The Senator, however, expressed concern over plight of some regional languages including Urdu which he feels is dying out. “Since these languages and the cultures tied to them are our shared history, I feel we all are beholden to try and protect our historical languages in every possible manner we can. I duly hope you would also give special consideration to this issue”, he said.
“People pin high hopes on people like your good self, an extremely, distinguished and learned person of highest caliber hailing from a rich family from Allah Abad. I am of the firm opinion that seniors like your good self have had a great role in promotion of regional harmony, cooperation and mutual respect which is undoubtedly praiseworthy. Our younger generations should learn from seniors like you”, he said.
