JK advocate appointed as member IRF and Law Society of Ireland | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu March 24:- Jammu and Kashmir based advocate Rohit Kapoor has been appointed as its member by two international societies viz International Road Federation and Law Society. Kapoor a prominent Advocate from J&K is already working as Consultant Registered with Asian Development Bank since almost last one year. The IRF has two Program Centers at Vernier Geneva in Switzerland and Washington. International Road Federation (IRF) is a Non-Governmental, not-for-profit organization with the mission to encourage and promote development and maintenance of better, safer and more sustainable roads and road networks. Working together with its members and associates, the IRF promotes social and economic benefits that flow from well-planned and environmentally sound road transport networks. It helps put in place technological solutions and management practices that provide maximum economic and social returns from national road investments. The IRF has a major role to play in all aspects of road policy and development worldwide. For governments and financial institutions, the IRF provides a wide base of expertise for planning road development strategy and policy. For its members, the IRF is a business network, a link to external institutions and agencies, such as the United Nations and the European Union, and a business card of introduction to government officials and decision makers. For the community of road professionals, the IRF is a source of support and information for national road associations, advocacy groups, companies and institutions dedicated to the development of road infrastructure. While The Law Society is the educational, representative and regulatory body of the solicitors' profession in Ireland, it exercises statutory functions under the Solicitors Acts 1954 to 2008 in relation to the education, admission, enrolment, discipline and regulation of the solicitors' profession. The Law Society is the professional body for its 12,000 solicitor members, to whom it also provides services and support. It is governed by an elected Council, which is supported by a full-time executive led by the Director General.
