Traffic Police’s Facebook account useless, as not being updated since months

JAMMU, Mar 24: Jammu traffic police have two facebook accounts so that people can lodge their complaints and provide info about the problems they are facing, but the plan has fallen flat in absence of failure to create awareness.

Interestingly, from January to this Month, the concerned department has received some complaints through facebook account, but many of them have not been processed.

About three months ago Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police department opened their official account on Facebook to interact with people and take action on their complaints easily. The departments have also launched a website where users will be able to upload photos and videos concerning traffic rule infringements.

It is pertinent to mention here that the traffic police have two account of face-book on of IGP Jammu and other SSP Jammu, but SSP Jammu facebook account had not been updated since last February.

Official’s source said that main proposes of open account on face-book that, many more people attracted this account to give the suggestion and complaints with evidences. Anyone can contribute to this initiative ranging from students, professionals, commuters and others. They people can shoot videos and photos using their cell phones or digital cameras and upload them on this portal.

He disclosed that the department has received some complaints according to traffic rules infringements about last two month few days. The face-book profile (http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000680399022), participating in forum discussion on issues like traffic management and technology, taxi complaints, rash driving, online payment of traffic fine.

IGP Traffic Jammu, Hement Kumar Lohia said that the department has received three or four complaints in daily routine, which are genuine complaints with authentic proofs, the department take immediate action on them.

He mentions, they have received different complaints through facebook, they make a file and sent to concerned department, which authentic complaints. He further said that he have don’t know about SSP traffic face-book account
