BJP Mahila Morcha organized massive rally

JAMMU , March 24 : To highlight the problems being faced by women and their role in making society civilized, BJP Mahila Morcha under District General Secretary Anju Devi, organized a massive women rally of Ward No. 19 at Lajpat Nagar on Saturday. Hundreds of women from all walks of life took part in this rally.
BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that today even after decades of independence the women in the country has not been accepted as equal by the society.
He said that women are more aware of the problems of women and hence they should be made part of the decision making bodies. Political reservation for women can prove to be beneficial not for women but for nation as well as society.
Manhas said that the BJP has already granted 33 per cent reservation to women in its organizational setup and has advocated reservation to them in parliament and assemblies so that they are given an opportunity to be part of the decision making.
He appealed the women voter to take part in the forthcoming JMC elections in large number to ensure the victory of BJP candidates.
National Executive Member & Jammu East MLA Ashok Khajuria said that women constitute almost half of the population and play a pivotal role not only in family but are actively participating in all such activities which were considered to be only in the control of men..
Mahila Morcha State President Sakina Bano, while condemning the practice of female feticide, said that although we claim to be educated and modern but still our mindset has not changed.
BJP Mahila Morcha District General Secretary Anju Devi said that there are a number of areas in Jammu city where the weaker section of the society has maximum population and the women in such areas are worst affected.
Over three dozen women also joined the BJP Mahila Morcha on the occasion.
Ramesh Arora (Adv.) Rajesh Gupta, Munish Sharma, Krishan Pahalwan, Priya Sethi, Sunil Dogra, Parveen Arora, Krishan Lal Gupta, Chaman Lal, Kasturi Lal, Maan Devi, Puran Chand, Raj Kumar, Vinod Gupta, Chinta Dogra, Vidya Devi, Saroj Devi were prominent among those who also addressed the gathering.
