| JK to promote golf, adventure tourism to woo tourists | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Mar 25: J&K tourism in its fresh efforts to bring the outbound travelers from cream segment is promoting golf and adventure tourism through out the country and abroad.
The latest such initiative was the participation in New Delhi event organized by the Naveen Beri cross section media group in the Emporio mall of DLF where international participation from countries like UAE, Mauritius, Thailand and Malaysia was seen apart from the domestic players in the golf, conference and adventure tourism.
The three day event which concluded today received visitors which included the famous cricketer Azharudin and actress Neena Gupta.
The Director Farooq A Shah while giving details said, "We have world class infrastructure now for international events which can tempt any world class golfer to visit here. The 18-hole Royal Springs Golf Course, Pahalgam Golf Course, Gulmarg Golf Course and one in Jammu are the best attractions for any golf lover."
"In Leh also we are developing the golf facilities soon. Other than this we have many smaller golf facilities which are comparable to the best in the country. Similarly in adventuretourism the white water rafting in Kashmir and Ladakh, trekking and heli sking can attract any adventure tourist from across the globe," he added.
The event received a good response from the visitors who were given all kinds of information and literature on different tourism products and services by the officials present and a group who visited from different embassies was shown a presentation on Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh.
Meanwhile, a 25 member group of Belgium tour operators is on a visit to Kashmir to know more about the tourism product and service of Kashmir.
They had an interaction with the Director Tourism and watched a presentation from Tourism department. |
