| Funds spent under CDF encourage political corruption: Rahman | | | JAMMU | JAN 23
The state president of Samajwadi party Shekh Abdul Rahman in a statement has supported the stand taken by finance Minister, Taug Hamid Qa not to increase the amount of constituency to development fund (CDF) from 35 lakh to one crore.
According to press release, Rahman has alleged that the funds on this amount are not fully utilized.
Sheikh further charged that in the allotment of funds and execution of works thereof, the idea of election prospects of the MLA or MLC concerned, supersede the need base, as a result the funds under s5the CDF more or less encourage political corruption. In order to check this nuisance, it would be better that the CDF, should immediately be withdrawn, Rahman demanded.
