| Seminar on Gandhian ideology in the contemporary world held | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 25: The Gandhian Studies Centre of Govt. M.A.M College organized a one day National Seminar on Gandhian Ideology in the contemporary world :a modern perspective. The Programme commenced with a musical performance by Prof. Padmini Tickoo .
Prof. Mohan Paul Singh Isher Vice Chancellor University Of Jammu was the chief Guest on the occasion. He deliberated upon the relevance of Gandhian thought and lauded the efforts of the college in disseminating the teachings of Gandhi Ji which would lead towards a progressive and productive development of the nation. He highlighted the theme of the seminar and exhorted the participants to carry forward Gandhian Gospels in Letter and spirit.
Prof. Vaid Ghai Chairperson Gandhi Sewa Sadan and a noted social activist was the keynote speaker for the seminar. She highlighted the concept of swadeshi and satyagraha propagated by the Gandhi Ji and stressed that Gandhian principles and thoughts would be able to solve the present global crises.
Dr. Ajeet Angral, principal of the College, in his welcome address highlighted the relevance of Gandhian Philosphy and exhorted the participants to carry forward the message of Universal brotherhood and Peace. He shared with the participants that the motive of the seminar is to get the valuable inputs to formulate an action plan for a forthcoming research project to be undertaken by the college. Dr.Twinkle Suri Director of the Gandhian Studies Centre, deliberated upon the activities of the Centre and threw light on the Significance of Gandhian teachings and the necessity to carry them forward for building a harmonious Social order. Faculty and Research Scholars from various Govt and private colleges and universities of the country presented papers and participated in the deliberations. |
