PPDF lashes out at National Conference | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 25 : The Pir Panchal Development Forum has taken strong exception to unnamed National Conference (NC) spokesman's slanderous tirade against former Deputy Chief Minister, Muzaffar Husain Beig. Accusing the NC of misleading the people of Jammu Kashmir about the divisive role played by the party leadership in the past for their vested interests, the Forum leaders Javed Ahmed Khan, Chowdhary Showkat Hussain, Shabir Ahmed Mughal, Abdul Qayoom Mir, Kuldeep Sharma and Iqbal Singh in a joint press note that revelations of Beig were nothing but the treuth. Pertinent to mention the National Conference in a statement issued on March 19 had advised Muzzaffar Hussain Beigh to study the history of Kashmir and Kashmir Struggle to know about great contribution made by the party for Jammu Kashmir. While addressing the media persons on March 21, Muzzaffer Hussain Beigh said he was reluctant to discuss the role of Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah as he was no more in this world. But, he said the statement of the National Conference asking me to read history of Kashmir and its struggle properly prompted me to unveil a few aspects of the Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah's divisive politics. He said during the past several decades the National Conference has projected its founder leader Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah as the greatest leader, Jammu Kashmir has ever produced. Much to the regret of N C leaders the PDP stalwarts smashed down the claims of NC leaders by throwing light on a few aspects of Sheikh Abdullah's divisive politics. The Forum said revelations made by the former deupty chief minister about Sheikh Abdullah's role is a welcome step to set the records of the Kashmir straight. The forum said that to fight his opponents Sheikh Abdullah resorted to divide them along the religious, regional and linguistic lines. The Forum also condemned the remarks of the National Conference saying that during the Dogra rule in the state the Gujjar and Pahari communities were considered and it was the National Conference who elevated these community to a respectful place in the society. The Forum said that the National Conference has always used Gujjar and Pahari people as the vote bank denying them all the opportunities of welfare and development. The forum said this remark was yet another example of this party divisive politics. However they have achieved a lot through honesty and hard working. The Forum said both the communities have a glorious past and NC's comment is another proof of Party leadership's mental bankruptcy
