Gupta’s play 'Ek Dhoop...' reveals universal truths | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU , Mar 25 : On day seven of the annual drama festival 2012 Rajneesh Kumar Gupta's play 'Ek Dhoop Saphed Si' was staged at Abhinav theatre here on Sunday. Produced by Theatre Mitra Production, the play is a story of lonely parents. 'Ek Dhoop...' explores bonds both unbreakable and fragile between parent and child. Parmod and Savitri, parents of Raju, are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their son from abroad. Raju, who has settled abroad, is seemingly unwilling to return. Both the parents have not seen their son - Raju - for years together and are desperate to meet him. Despite their desperation, Raju remained absent from their life. Then one night, Raju arrives, not to see his parents but to seal a business deal. Ruefully moving in its depiction of the ties that bind, 'Ek Dhoop...' tells a story that reveals universal truths. Starring Santosh Sangra, Rajesh Raina, Sudesh Kumar, Jagjeet and Mohinder, 'Ek Dhoop...' tells a poignant tale. Sponsored by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, the play proceedings were moderated by Academy's senior drama instructor, Dr. Sudhir Mahajan. |
