State Govt apathetic towards basic problems of masses: Mehbooba

Jammu, Mar 25: Terming National Conference led government as worst ever corrupt regime the State has witnessed so far, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti today said that woes of common people has been compounding because dispensation has failed to all fronts.
Addressing series of public meetings in different areas of Jammu city, Mehbooba Mufti said that except promises nothing has been done during the last three years. She said that the present regime was non serious towards solving basic problems. "In human approach of the government can be gauged from the fact that this regime has failed to arrange even matching grants for aged old and widow pensions", she said and added that during the last couple of years release of widow pension has stopped because the government has failed to provide matching grants for these welfare schemes.
She said that during meetings in the city, majority of people complained about of denial of aged old and widow pensions.
Ms Mufti said that most of the central sponsored schemes were defunct in the state because of the non serious approach of the coalition regime. She said that in other parts of the country people were taking benefits of various welfares schemes but in Jammu and Kashmir these schemes were defunct due to the mis-goverance and chaos in the State. Calling upon the people to teach a lesson to the National Conference in the coming civic bodies elections, she said that NC was responsible for all problems in the State. "One and only aim of NC is to remain in power", she observed and people of all regions and sub-regions of the state were suffering due to the mis-goverance of present regime. She regretted that on the one hand, corruption has crossed all limits while on the other government was apathetic towards the basic problems of the people.
Party general secretary Thakur Balbir Singh, Ved Mahajan, Falail Singh, R K Bali, Surjeet Kour and others addressed the meetings.
Mehooba addressed meetings at Sanjay Nagar, Rehari and Reshamghar Colony. These meetings were organised by Sonu Saini, Champati Bhagat and Raj Kumar Lalotra.
Another meeting of PDP was held at ward number 1, which was organized by Romail Jaggi.
