Aman, Abhishek, Tanzen and 15 others clinch 1st places | Jammu Police organizes College Karate Championship | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 26: The Jammu Police organized an invitation College Karate Championship in collaboration with Ren Mei Goju Ryu Karate Do Federation of India and Scikoki Karate Association at MA Stadium, here. Those who clinched irst place in different categories included Aman Gupta, Abhishek Jamwal, Vipan Singh, Tenzen, Sachin Norma, Gulshan Kumar, Shahil Sharma, Narinder Pal Singh, Davinder Singh, Touseef Malik, Shahbaz Ahmed, Aman Choudhary, Raja Mohd, Shiv Kumar, Abdul Majid, Bharat Bushan and Niyami . Karatekas drawn from all the surrounding colleges participated in this prestigious championship and brought laurels to their respective colleges. All the arrangements and expenses incurred in this event by the Jammu Police with the sole objective to promote Karate Sports in the state. The said championship was held under the Supervisions of S.P.South Rajeshwar Singh and SP city J.S.Johar, while Rajesh Gill, former Ranji Player and member of the Federation was the organizing secretary. The event was closely supervised and officiated by Sanjeev Dewan , Gen.Secy of Ren Mei Goju Ryu Karate Do Federation of India & Scikoki Karate Association. Whereas , Umesh Rekhi, Rajinder Kumar, Maqsood Ahmad and other Karate officials also officiated the event along with the General Secretary of the federation. Kiran Wattal Secretary J&K State.Sports Council was the chief guest on the occasion, who lateron distributed prizes among the winners. While addressing the gathering, Wattal appreciated the Jammu Police for organizing this championship with the idea to promote the Karate sports in State. Wattal also appreciated the role of Sanjeev Dewan and Rajesh Gill in the overall promotion of Karate Sports. Uniforms, Medals for all participants and trophies for winners were also distributed. Earlier, SP South Rajeshwar and SP City J.S.Johar inaugurated the event and in his welcome address said that the Police department under the Civic Action Programme will continue to promote sports culture in the whole state. Later-on, SP South Rajeshwar Singh presented vote of thanks on the occasion. Principal of Science College , Physical Directors of MAM College & Science College, Chief Sports Officer, JK Sports Council, Manager Stadium and other sports men were present on the occasion. |
