| ‘PEACE’ organizes seminar on development of block Ghordi | | | Jammu | Jan 23 The People’s Education and Association for culture and equality “PEACE”, a Non-Government Organisation (NGO) working for the development of the far-flung and undeveloped areas, organized a seminar on the topic “Development of Ghordi Block” in village Ghordi of district Udhampur. Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Udhampur Khursheed Ahmed Bhatt was Chief Guest on the occasion whereas Smt. Santosh Tickoo (ICDS), Devinder Singh Bhau BDO and Rattan Chand, ZEPO were also present on the occasion, beside large number of villagers. Speaking on the occasion, ADDC thanked PEACE for organizing such type of events and awareness camps in remote areas like ghordi. He applauded the role of PEACE to aware the villagers regarding the schemes and motivated them to come to the concerned authorities regarding their demands. He assured the public that the demands raised during the camp would be considered. Bhatt appealed the PEACE president, Narinder Sharma to organize more such camps and seminars in the remote and hilly villages in the district blocks. Sharma while speaking on the occasion thanked the officials of the concerned authorities for participating in the seminar and also demanded Niabat for the Ghordi Block so that the poor villagers would register their concerned problems at their village. He also appealed the authorities for opening of filtration plant, proper bus service for the connectivity of the area with Udhampur town, receiving Station and direct 33 KV line from Udhampur. The prominent persons who applauded the role of PEAC were Sarpanchs Bishan Dass, Isher Das, Ramanand, Shiv Ram, K.C. Tripathi, Mulkh Raj, Des Raj, Sham Lal, Des Raj Tripathi, Parvinder Singh, Rajesh Pradhan, Rajesh Behl, Vijay Kumar and Narinder Paul. Blankets were also distributed by Chief Guest.
