| National level conference organized at Bhaderwah campus | | | Early Times Report
Bhaderwah, Mar 26 : Department of English at Bhaderwah Campus organized a two day long national level conference on the theme 'Role of Literature in Narrati vising the Margins which concluded here today. Prof R D Sharma, Dean Academic Affairs, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest for the inaugural function. Speaking on this occasion, he emphasized on the role of literature in the empowerment of people on the margins of the society. Prof Debashes Chatterjee delivered the keynote address. Prominent speakers included Prof. B C Sharma, The Business School University of Jammu, Prof. M.A. Malik, Rector Bhaderwah Campus and Dr Subhash Chander, Head, Deptt of English, Bhaderwah Campus and convener of the conference were also present during the inaugural function. In the two day discourse of the conference more than twenty eight papers were presented by the delegates who had come from all across the country. A cultural evening Sham-e-Ghazal was presented by Ustad Majid Latief, a local singer from Bhaderwah and Nasir Farid, student of Dept. of English. Prof Dabashes Chatterjee from Calcutta University also memerised delegates on the occasion. Certificates were distributed to all the participants. The Proceeding of the function was conducted by Miss Ambish Malik Teaching Assistant while Valedictory function ended with a note of thanks by Jatinder Singh Manhas, Coordinator of the conference. |
