An emergent meeting of Majalta unit of congress party was convened under the chairmanship of Kuldip Singh, President Block Congress Committee, Majalta. The meeting expressed gratitude to Chief Minister G.N.Azad, Education Minister, P.M Syed and Chairman District development board, Mangat Ram Ram Sharma, for ordering upgradition of H.S. Thial (Boys) to (10+2) level which was the long-pending demand of people of the area. School is the oldest school in the entire area and was set up in 1927 and upgraded to a high school long back in 1959, Singh said.
The meeting further demanded upgradation of M.S. Kakrai, M.S.Peuni and M.S. Babey to High Schools as there is overweening public demand in this respect. The workers further thanked R & B Minister, G.S. Charak, for getting started repair-cum-metalling of Mansar Chani road out of state sector funds. The workers further expressed satisfaction over the start of work on the Dhamma-Jansal road and posting of a B.M.O at Majalta.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Charan Dass, Tariq Hussain, Faquir Chand, Dhani Ram, Gian Chand Sarpanch, Romesh Verma, Ram Singh, Nirmala Devi, Rattan Chand, Kewal Krishan, Falel Singh, Hem Raj and others.
