| Er. Rahid, Nazir Gurezi annoyed by Speaker | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 26; As usual Independent MLA Er. Rashid was on his legs during the first half of the Question Hour here on Monday as he was not allowed to raise a point at the very onset while on the other hand National Conference MLA entered into a verbal brawl with the Speaker on "not being heard by the Chair". As soon as the House met here today with Speaker Muh ammad Akbar Lone in chair, opposition BJP, Panthers Party, PDP and independent MLAs stood up from their seats to raise their points.
Speaker, however allowed Ashoke Khajuria of BJP, Harshdev Singh of Panthers Party, Hakim Muhammad Yasin of PDF and Nizamudin Bhatt of PDP to make their points.
On the other hand Er. Rashid (Independent) and Nazir Gurezi of NC made repeated efforts to invite the attention of the chair but failed.
On this Er. Rashid while moving towards the main entrance alleged that the members who regularly being allowed to raise issues were playing to the galleries and that he was being discriminated.
On this Speaker M A Lone directed the media not to publish any photograph of Rashid for the day. However, Rashid, very unusual of him, staged walk-out silently. Meanwhile Nazir Gurezi lost his cool and alleged that he was not permitted to make his point while as the opposition members were given full time to raise their issues. This irked the Speaker who while hitting at Gurezi said, "you cannot ask me questions, take your seat or stage walk-out, no question from you". Gurezi, however, staged walk-out in protest and remained away from the House during the question hour. |
