Justice Kalifulla elevated to SC | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 26: The state high court chief justice F M Ibrahim Kalifulla has been elevated as a judge of supreme court. He was likely to take oath as SC judge on April 3 next, according to HC sources. A notification in this regard was likely to be issued in a day, or two by the union ministry of law and justice, the sources added. He had assumed charge of office here on February 2, 2011. Appointed as acting HC chief justice on April 7, 2011, he took oath as chief justice on September 18, 2011. He hails from Karaikudi in Sivagangai, Tamil Nadu.After his elevation to supreme court, it was expected that Justice Virender Singh, the seniormost HC judge, would become the acting chief justice. |
