| Government of corrupts sans accountability- Mehbooba | | | ashir Assad
JAMMU, Mar 26: Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti Monday termed the Omar Andullah led coalition government as corrupt and alleged that the opposition was not being allowed to expose the scandals of this government on the floor of the house.
Speaking to a group of media persons in the Central Hall of the Legislature after staging walk-out from the House, Mehbooba Mufti said that they were not being allowed to raise the issues of public interest in the assembly. "This government is scandalous and every now and then some new scandals come to the fore, there is a large scale bungling in MGNREGA but the opposition is not being allowed to speak as the chair was biased and favourites only are allowed to speak" Mehbooba said and alleged that there was a tacit understanding between the government and its favourites to not to allow the largest opposition party to raise the issues of public importance.
Mehbooba alleged norms and guidelines are flayed while implementing the developmental schemes. There is no criteria for sanction and development of Model Villages on one hand and on the other hand NC led government has altered the basic purpose of MGNREGA which according to PDP president is allotting the works under the scheme to NC contractors while the real beneficiaries, the job card holders are denied the opportunity.
On Anna Hazare's crusade against corruption, Mehbooba said, " it was the duty of the politicians to deter the menace but they are by one way or the other compromising on the issue fearing reprisal".
On JKCA multi-crore scam, PDP president said that investigative news stories have unearthed some important links which clearly indicate that Dr. Farooq Abdullah is directly involved in the scam.
