| Mir appointed Additional Judge of the State High Court for further two years | | | Jammu, Jan 23 President of India Mr. AVUL PAKIR JAINULABDEEN ABDUL KALAM has appointed Justice Mansoor Ahmed Mir presently Additional Judge of the State High Court as Additional Judge of J&K High Court for two years with effect from January 31, 2007. Justice Mansoor Ahmed Mir was elevated as Additional Judge of the J&K High Court on January 31, 2005 for a period of two years. Justice Mansoor Ahmed Mir born on April 25, 1955, did his LLB from Kashmir University in 1978 joined as District & Sessions Judge after passing higher Judicial Service on May 28, 1993. During his service he posted various posts like Presiding Officer MACT, Presiding Officer and elevated as Additional Judge of State High Court for two years on January 31, 2005, when he was Principal District & Sessions Judge Kupwara. It is worthwhile to mention here warrant of elevation of Acting Chief Justice of State High Court Justice BA Khan as permanent Chief Justice received here today and the Oath Ceremony took place on January 25, 2007 at 9:30 AM at Raj Bhawan. In the meanwhile in an emergency meeting of the J&K High Court Employees Welfare Association held today at Srinagar under the Chairmanship of its President Mr. Bashir Ahmed Mir and at Jammu under the chairmanship of its General Secretary S Joginder Singh in which all the members have hailed the decision of the Central Govt in confirming Justice BA Khan as a permanent Chief Justice of the State and Association expressed heartiest congratulation to the Chief Justice BA Khan and further hoped and prayed for elevation of his lordship in the Apex Court .
