| March of agri-technocrats foiled | | | early times report
JAMMU, Mar 26: Police today foiled the march of hundreds of agricultural technocrats to Chief Minister's House in Jammu.
Demanding regularisation, agricultural technocrats this morning, under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Agricultural Technocrats Association, assembled outside the Press Club of Jammu to march towards the Chief Minister's residence at Wazarat road.
Carrying banners and placards amid anti-government slogans, the technocrats proceeded towards CM's house and later assembled near DPS lane in Residency area.
The protestors however, were stopped few meters short of the Chief Minister's residence following which they had mild clash with the police.
After the intervention of senior police officials, the demonstrators dispersed peacefully. Agitating technocrats were demanding regularization on the pattern of Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReTs) as they alleged that the government assured them in the last Budget (March 2011) session that all the ad-hoc basis agricultural technocrats would be regularised and appointed as JAEO. |
