Jmu-Akhnoor blocked for hours, five booked in 'murder case' | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Mar 26: Five persons were booked for allegedly committing murder of a youth whose body was found in a canal under mysterious circumstances under the jurisdiction of Kanachck police station here today after a strong protest was staged at Jammu Akhnoor road. According to the police sources the cases were registered against the five persons following the protest demonstration by the family members of the youth who was found dead, identified as Bubby son of Kakka Ram of Malpur Dumi. The locals staged protest demonstration on the Akhnoor-Jammu road which remained closed for about six hours which caused great traffic inconvenience. Meanwhile senior police officers rushed to the spot and assured action in the matter to pacify the protestors and to resume the traffic on the ever busy road. After pursuance of senior police officers the case from 174CrPC were converted to 302 RPC and accordingly five persons namely Chaman, Ravi, Surinder, Jatinder and Pawan were booked. Quoting protestors, a police officer said that an old land dispute between two families is stated to be the reason behind the murder. Meanwhile the body was taken to the GMC Hospital for autopsy and reports of which is awaited, sources added.
