| Branch Post Master arrested for embezzlement ? | | | | Udhampur, Mar 27: Udhampur Police arrested a Branch PostMaster in a raid conducted in Banista village by a police team of Ramnagar forhis involvement in alleged embezzlementof a substantial amount of money. A police team supervised by SSP Udhampur Shakeel Ahmed Beighere today arrested accused post master identifiednamely as Rattan Singh (40) son of Baldev Singh resident of Bainsta(village), Tehsil Ramnagar, who had wentunder ground after his involvement in alleged embezzlement of a substantial amount of money was surfaced. As per police case the accused posted as Branch Post Masterin the Post Office of Banista village and during his tenure a huge misbalanceof payments was detected by the staff members while scrutinizing the records.During scrutiny of the records, the staff detected some wrong entries and thusthe commission of forgery came to surface within the department. The localapproached the Police which also tookcognizance in this matter and the accused went underground since 20-03-2012. A case FIR No.41/2012 U/S 409,420,467,468,477A RPC has beenregistered against the alleged accused person in Police Station Ramnagar andfurther investigation of the case is going on. |
