| Handicraft awareness camp held | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR , Mar 27 : The Department of Handicrafts Udhampur organized an awareness camp at village Jandrari in block Ramnagar for the awareness of the masses regarding the various schemes launched by the department.
Sarpanches, panches and large number of villagers from all walks of the life from the adjoining villages of Thaplal, Kokha, Amroh, Marta , Tarmian, Bassi, Langa and Battal also participated in the camp. Assistant Director Handicrafts Udhampur Romesh Kumar Rayu gave the detailed resume of the programme.
He also focused on the schemes and achievements of the department. He invited the masses to take handicraft as their source of earning and livelihood as handicrafts of the state are world renowned and high potential of earning by getting themselves registered as artisans and avail benefits of loan from banks under Micro Credit Plans.
The department is presently running 15 training center in the district wherein 240 trainees are getting training in different crafts, he disclosed. The people of the area urged the department for holding such awareness camps in remote areas also for the benefit of the people in near future. |
