Ruling coalition should take a decision on Speaker -MLA Rashid | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 27 : Condemning what he termed irresponsible, partisan and illogical role of Speaker, Independent MLA Er. Rashid Tuesday demanded that ruling National Conference-Congress government should convene a meeting to take a decision on Speaker. Talking to media persons after he was marshalled out from the Houser, Rashid questioned the role and behaviour of Speaker and said that voice of the people was being muzzled when their elected representatives are not allowed to raise the issues of public importance. "I have been elected by the people, I have been given mandate by the people and I have every right to represent my people in the assembly but it is for the 5th time that I marshalled out from the house" Rashid said and added that Indian Democracy is being butchered in the assembly ten times a day by the ruling coalition and the Speaker who has crossed all the limits in muzzling the voice of the people and the media. Rashid said, "doesn't it amount to muzzling of voice of media when Speaker directs it not to report whatever he was happening inside the house" He asked National Conference-Congress coalition government to take a decision on Speaker as he has irreparably damaged the institution. "He is acting as a dictator and the government was comfortable with him as it (government) has nothing to offer to the people as such they want to muzzle the voice for which they have found best bet in Speaker" alleged Rashid. |
