Various Sikh organizations call for amnesty for 'Rajona'

Jammu, Mar 27: Various Sikh organizations held a meeting under the chairmanship of S SudershanSingh Wazir, Chairman J&K Sikh United Front demanded the cancellation ofdeath sentence awarded to S Balwant Singh Rajoana in S Beant Singhassassination case. Later addressing the media persons Wazir said that theSikhs as a religion are also against the capital punishment. "Hence the deathpenalty awarded to Balwant Singh Rajoana, allegedly involved in S Beant Singh assassination,be taken back, he said. He called upon the government to not only commute thedeath sentence but also release him.
S Avtar Singh Khalsa, president United Secular Forum, Jammu, S Narbir Singh,president J&K Youth Akali Dal, S Mohinder Singh, Chief Organisor BhaiKanhiya Nishkam Sewa Society also appealed for the amnesty to Rajona.
