| Impressive 99-run win for Law School | | Inter-department sports meet of JU | | early times report
Jammu, Mar 27: Law School today made it an impressive 99-run win over Department of Biotechnology to advance into the next round of ongoing inter-department cricket tournament of University of Jammu on the campus, here. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, Law School set a target of 160 runs for the loss of six wickets in 15 overs game. Farukh remained top scorer with 28-ball 41 runs while Sami and Amit contributed 25 and 19 runs respectively. Waheed (15) and Sahil (24) also played fine innings. From Biotechnology, Amit bagged two wickets while Imran, Mohrin, Gourav and Vishal shared apiece each.
In reply, Biotechnology bowled out for just 60 runs in 13.1 overs. Amit was highest scorer with 15 runs while no other batsman could touch the double figure mark. Ankesh and Yash bagged two wickets each from Law School, followed by Sahil and Amit, who took apiece each.

JAMMU: Walkovers mark the opening day of carrom and badminton competitions thereby giving a message that male students of Post Graduate Departments are no more interested in these twin events. None of the five scheduled matches could be held in absence of the opponents.
However, there was healthy response in badminton event wherein four of the seven scheduled matches were played.
