| Zargar reviews functioning of JAKFED | | | JAMMU, JAN 24 Minister for Agriculture and Cooperative Mr. Abdul Aziz Zargar has said that with a view to facilitate the farmers and agriculturists of the state JAKFED is providing fertilizers to them through various Co-operative sale outlets in the state. He said that the fertilizers being provided to the farmers community included Urea, DAP, MOP and NPK. The Minister was presiding over a meeting here today convened to review the working of this public Undertaking. The meeting was also attended by Chairman JADFED S. Rangil Singh, Principal Secretary Agriculture S.S. Sahai, Financial Commissioner Mr. B.B. Viyas, Managing Director JAKFED, Mr. Muzzafar Mirza, Registrar Cooperative Dr. G.N. Kasba, Director Budgets Mr. Ravi Mangotra, Special Secretary Agriculture Mr. Abdul Hamid, General Manager JAKFED G.R. Abrol. It was said in the meeting that 1662 MTs of Urea, 14225 MTs. Of MOP and 1804 MTS of NPK were provided to the farmers during last 9 months of 2006-07 as against 15851. MTs of Urea, 25682 MTs. Of DAP, 2351 MTs. Of MOP and 1643 MTs of NPK provided during same period of 2005-06. The Minister asked the officers of JAKFED and Cooperatives to streamline the distribution of fertilizers and other commodities through their outlets and see that the farmer community does not face any difficulty.
