One day national seminar held in JU | | | early times report JAMMU, Mar 28: A One day National Seminar on the theme of "Credit Based Evaluation System In Higher Education: Issues and Challenges" was organized by the Department of Education, University of Jammu under the Special Assistance Programme (SAP) DRS-I. The seminar started off with the Inaugural function in which Prof. I. A. Hamal, the Vice-Chancellor of BGSBU University Rajouri was the chief Guest. Prof. N.K. Ambasht, (Pro Vice-Chancllor IASE Rajasthan) delivered the Keynote address and emphasized that the judicious use of the Credit system is the need of the hour. Earlier, Prof. Lokesh K. Verma, Head & Dean , Faculty of Education in his welcome address, introduced the seminar theme and underlined the need of the seminar and the credit based evaluation for the quality education. On this occasion Prof. Hamal along with others released the volume of souvenir and the newsletter. Prof. Sistla Rama Devi Pani, the Editor of University News, also spoke about the need to introduce the credit based evaluation to have the parity with the international standards . About sixty presentations were made on the different topics related to the theme. Prof. G.M. Malik, Prof. N.K. Ambasht, Prof. Sistla Rama Devi Pani and Prof. Amit Kauts chaired the technical sessions. Prof. R. D. Sharma, Dean Academic Affairs, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest at the valedictory function. A brief report of the entire seminar was presented . Prof Sharma, on this occasion, stressed upon the need of the Credit based evaluation system and congratulated the organizers particularly Prof . Verma , the Head of the dept of Education for taking up the very vital theme for the discussion and hoped that discussions of the seminar shall pave the way for the successful implementation for the Credit based Evaluation. Dr. Rajeev Rattan delivered the vote of Thanks. |
