| Workshops conclude | | | AKHNOOR,JAN 24
Aimed at to generate awareness among the adolescent girls about the safe and sound ways of living a healthy and prosperous life, three 6-day workshops organised at ICDS, project, Akhnoor under “Kishori Shakti” concluded here today.
These innovative workshops have been organised at Jorian, Mehra (Jorean Belt) and Akhnoor which witnessed massive participation.
During the camps, CDPO Akhnoor Mrs. Rachna Sharma alongwith senior doctors, BMO, Demonstrator Officer, social activists, BDO, and prominent educationists educated the girls about the benefits of proper nutrition, importance of female literacy, risk of early marriage and early motherhood besides they were also made aware of their rights and duties to live a dignified life.
At the conclusion of the workshops, several informative lectures have been delivered which would go a long in improving the living standards of womenfolk of such rural and far-flung areas to some extent.
A one-month workshop on tailoring and cutting was also commenced here yesterday which will be a part of these routine workshops.
