| Special squads to monitor transport availability during Muharram | | |

Two special squads of Motor Vehicles department have been constituted to monitor transport arrangements during Muharram days in Srinagar and Budgam districts.
It was decided at a meeting of valley passenger transporters held under the chairmanship of Regional Transport Officer, Kashmir here yesterday to sort out the issues relating to transport facilities Srinagar and Budgam districts during holy days of Muharram.
The transporters assured that they will fully cooperate with the department and keep sufficient transport available during these days. They also agreed to ply transport services till late hours particularly in Srinagar city and Budgam for the convenience of general public. |
