| JBA discusses traffic scenario, suggests corrective measures | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 29: A meeting of Jammu Bachao Andolan (JBA) committee on "Mitigation of Traffic Hazards" (MTH) was held here today under the chairmanship of Capt SRD Singh to discuss the sufferings being caused to general public due to traffic mismanagement, lack of road safety measures, presence of workshops in the public places and traffic congestion.
In the meeting, the members suggested corrective measures including starting Metro in greater Jammu city to cater to the needs of Jammu and sub-urban areas connected with the township.
It proposed route of Metro from Vijaypur to Bethara via Parade Ground, Satwari to Miran Sahib, Jammu to Nagrota (Jagti), Parade to Kot Bhalwal via Janipur and Parade to Sangrampur.
The meeting also proposed installation of signal system in the township of Jammu.
It was also resolved that the delegation of JBA will meet and submit the said proposals to the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Secretary Home Affairs, Divisional Commissioner beside the State Pollution Control Board, Traffic Police and Transport Authorities very shortly.
