| Inter-Department Sports meet of JU | | Chemistry beat Physics and Electronics by 4 wkts | | early times report
JAMMU, Mar 29: Sailing of superb innings of half century by Amit, Department of Chemistry today registered a four wickets win over Department of Physics and Electronics to advance in the ongoing inter-department cricket tournament of University of Jammu on the campus, here. Earlier, after winning the toss Chemistry decided to field. Batting first, Physics and Electronics made 128 runs for six in given 20 overs. Akshay was top scorer with 39 runs while Mukesh and Vikas contributed 18 and 17 runs respectively. Rakesh (16) and Nitin (15) were other main scorers. From Chemistry, Jatinder and Gurpreet took one wicket each.
In reply, Chemistry attained the goal in 17 overs making 129 runs for six wickets. Atul played brilliant innings of 37-ball 50 runs, followed by Bhupinder Singh and Zubai, who contributed 27 and 14 runs respecrtivley. From Physics and Electornics, Narotam remained most successful bowler with three wickets while Akshay bagged two and Vikas one.
