J&K Bank inaugurates RSETI Ganderbal

Srinagar, Mar 29: Committed to professionalise and institutionalise the entrepr enuership among local youth, J&K Bank today inaugurated Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) at Ganderbal. The institute will train the youth and build their capacities through updated information, technical intervention and skill development.
Showkat Ahmad Mir, District Development Comm isioner, Ganderbal did the honours in presence of Bashir Ahmad Lone, Bank's President & Zonal Head for Kashmir Central. Others present on the occasion included Waqar Nazki, Head of the Bank's Marketing Division, Moha mmed Amin Khan, Bank's Cluster Head for Ganderbal, Directors of various RSETIs including Altaf Hussain, Director, RSETI Ganderbal, senior officers of the district administration vand the Bank, local elders and youth. Speaking on the occasion Showkat Ahmad Mir welcomed the J&K Bank's gesture of establishing RSETI in Ganderbal. "Owing to the immense unemployment problems that our state is facing, establishment of RSETIs is a welcome step. My special thanks to J&K Bank management for establishing one such Institute in district Ganderbal".
Describing J&K Bank as back bone of state's economy, Mir said, "J&K Bank is at the core of J&K's economy and I pray to Almighty that J&K Bank continues to touch newer heights of excellence". He however, said that such a centrality in state's economy had put added responsibilities on the Bank.
Bashir Ahmad Lone in his address threw light on the aims and objectives of RSETIs. He termed the Institites as centres of capacity upgradation and skill development for youth. "These centres are concrete step in the direction of alleviating unemployment from the state.
Though J&K Bank fully understands that it cannot remove unemployment from the scene but we are always eager to contribute in making our youth self reliant and productive for the society at large".
Seeking government's cooperation in making these institutes more spacious, vibrant and result-oriented, Lone requested the government to speed up the process of identification and allocation of land for RSETIs.
The maiden one-week training programme titled "Skill Development Programme for Willow Work" for the first batch of 20 students was also kickstarted on the occasion. The event culminated with the presentation of vote of thanks by Mohammed Amin Khan.
