BJP demands municipal council for Rajouri
Various Muslim leaders join party

JAMMU, Mar 29: Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has started campaign for local bodies' election from Pathan Morh of Rajouri wherein many local leaders including leaders of Muslim community joined BJP.
Various leaders among prominent Mohd Faqir, Mohd Shabir, Mohd Naseer, Maneer Hussain, Khaliq Hussain, Taj Mohd and Suresh Kumar have joined Bharatiya Janata Party and have expressed full faith in the leadership of the party by terming it most secular party of India.
The party on the occasion also demanded up-gradation of Municipal Committee Rajouri to Municipal Council and termed local Minister Shabir Ahmed Khan a big barrier in its up-gradation.
Welcoming the newly joined leaders into BJP, State Secretary of the party Vibodh Gupta targeted local Minister Shabir Ahmed Khan saying that Khan is the biggest hurdle in ug-gradation of Municipal Committee to Council in Rajouri. He said that there are 17 wards and 390000 population of Rajouri town but the same is not being upgraded.
BJP leader said that when there are Assembly Constituencies in Kashmir region on the same number of votes, why government is discriminating with the people of Rajouri.
Kuldeep Raj Gupta on the occasion has said that BJP is secular party and it is why Muslims are coming closer to it. He appealed local people to maintain this harmony as Rajouri is known for its harmony in past also. He said that Municipal elections are coming closer and people must defeat those who had done nothing for them.
