Panthers condemn unveiling of Hari Singh's statue on Apr 1 | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 29: Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) and Young Panthers have strongly condemned the state gover nment's decision to unveil the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh on April 1. In a press statement issued here today, the JKNPP leadership said that since April 1 is observed as 'Fool's day' across the globe and to unveil the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh on this day amounts to humiliation and injuring the emotions and sentiments of the people of the state. The release maintained that evidences based on the historical facts reveal that NC and Congress have been responsible for exile of the Maharaja only to denigrate the people because they intended to take vengeance on Maharaja Hari Singh for having disallowed Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru to enter Kashmir Valley via Muzaf frabad (Kohala Bridge) to support NC's tirade against the Dogra Ruler in the name of 'Quit Kashmir' movement. The Panthers Party leaders reminded the people of this country that it was Maharaja Hari Singh who acceded to the Union of India by keeping the interest of the people of the state protected. JKNPP has warned the state government against any move that could insult and wound the sentiments of the people of the state particularly that of the Dogras who have given their blood for the creation of the state of J&K. |
