| Hotel Ritz Manor penalized for harassing employee | | | early times report
Jammu, Mar 30: Hotel Muskan, popularly known as Ritz Manor, has been penalized of Rs 20,500 for harassing employee and an order in this connection was issued by the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Jammu following a complaint.
An official hand out stated that following a complaint lodged by one Sanjay Kumar, a dish washer, alleging that he was beaten by the staff members when he demanded his due wages of five months. "The complaint added though during his tenure of service did double work on the salary of Rs 3500 per months, official statement said further adding that a notice in this regard was served to the Managing Director of the Muskan Hotel -Nirdos Trehan which he refused to entertain.
"On the basis of non seriousness and the pathetic attitude on the part of the hotel management, the court under section 15(13) of the payment wages act 1936 passed order of Rs 17,500 in favour of the aggrieved employee besides directed to make a payment of Rs 3000 more as compensation for delaying the wages, the statement added. |
