The court direction was also passed in an application filed by Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh and others of Doda and Kishtwar districts, seeking permission to take part in the PIL proceedings. Doda and Kishtwar are the areas where accidents occur every month and these accidents have virtually become a regular future. As per the details submitted before the court, till October last year, 1,344 accidents had occurred in Jammu division in 2011. The applicant's grievance was that the Doda and Kishtwar roads were prone to fatal accidents, resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries in any given year. |
