| People protest LPG shortage, block road | | | early times report
POONCH, Mar 30: Agitated over the shortage of LPG, residents of Khanetar today blocked the Poonch road to vehicular traffic.
Raising slogans against CAPD department and the local gas agency, the protesters blocked the road for over two hours.
The people lifted their blockade following an assurance by police and CAPD officials that the LPG supply would soon be made smooth in the area. Mohammad Iqbal, a Khanetar resident, said despite complaints to the district administration, no action was taken against the local LPG dealer. Another Khanetar resident Ghulam Rasool said in the wake of LPG shortage, people were forced to buy cylinders in black.. |
