| Signature campaign "Earth Hour" | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 30 : GDC Bishnah organized a Signature Campaign to celebrate "Earth Hour" here today. The campaign was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Preeti Dogra, Convener, Tawishi Eco Club in the presence of Prof Kalpana Kesar, Principal of the college. In the event students and staff of the college participated actively to mark the occasion. The convener of the club encouraged the students to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour i.e. from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. tomorrow to raise awareness about the need to take action on climate change. Earth Hour was conceived by WWF and The Sydney Morning Herald (a daily newspaper) in 2007, when 2.2 million residents of Sydney participated by turning off all non-essential lights. Principal, Prof Kalpana Kesar appealed the students and staff to be a part of the global movement to save the mother earth. |
