| Freedom Fighters remembered at Cellular Jail, Port Blair | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 30 : Gandhi Global Family, Andaman Nicobar Islands Branch organised All Faith Prayer in the premises of historical cellular jail Port Blair in the memory of freedom fighters who were housed in Kala Pani Jail during independence struggle. Floral tributes were also paid to them. Eminent Gandhian and Vice-President, Gandhi Global Family, SP Verma presided over the prayer meeting. Verma was leading a delegation of Gandhi Global Family to these islands on five days visit as part of Gandhian Parik rama around country for Peace and creating awareness against social evils prevailing in the society launched two and a half years ago under the Presidentship of Ghulam Nabi Azad, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare from Kany akumari. Verma along with GGF delegation met Lieutenant Governor, Andaman Nicobar Islands, Lieutenant General (Retd) Bhupinder Singh at Raj Bhawan, Port Blair and briefed him about the Gandhian Parikrama and other activities being undertaken by GGF within and outside country. |
