| J&K Grameen Bank organises function | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 31: For the objective of providing banking service at the doorstep of the unbanked people, J&K Grameen Bank organized a function for operationalization of ICT enabled financial inclusion at village Bamyal, Block Dansal, with NABARD's Financial assistance and support. S.C Rabara CGM NAB ARD, was the Chief guest on the occasion and the function for distribution of smart cards was inaugurated . While speaking on the occasion Rabara enlightened the gathering about the concept of financial inclusion and how this will be beneficial to the unbanked people. He also asked the people to form Farmer Clubs and Self help groups and take the benefits available through these schemes. Since the main occupation of the inhabitants of the area is agriculture and dairy and the people are dealing in making and selling the milk products as well as pack animal activity the Chief Guest offered full support from NABARD. Raja Abdul Lateef Chairman JKGB also spoke on the occasion and congratulated the people of the area for starting the distribution of smart cards in their village and asked the gathering to take full benefit of the ICT based technology. He also announced the operationalization of Smart cards through POT machines being operated by the business correspondent Ajay Kumar of the same village for the benefit of the people of the near-by villages. The program was conducted by R P Sharma Sr. Manager MF&FI JKGB. The staff of the Base Branch Nagrota, Sarpanches and Panches of the area also attended the function. The vote of thanks was presented by M K Vij General Manager JKGB who thanked the chief guest and other dignitaries for attending the programme. |
