Sagar inspects massive dev works in Shahr-i-Khas

SRINAGAR, Mar 31: The Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Mohammad Sagar conducted an extensive tour of Shahr-i-Khaas to review various ongoing welfare and development works. The Minister was accompanied by Managing Director, Cable Car Corporation, Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Srinagar, Director Health Services, Kashmir, Director Horticulture, Additional Deputy Commissioner and other senior officers. Sagar during his tour reviewed the pace of work on Makhdoom Sahib Cable Car Project coming up at a cost of Rs. 61 lakhs. He urged the Managing Director Cable Car Project to speed up the work on the project so that it will be commissioned on July 13, the Martyrs Day.The Minister also took stock of the progress of Naagar Nagar project taken up by Tourism Department. He stressed upon the officers for making this project more tourist attractive. He asked the officers to take immediate steps for rehabilitation of those affected families which are presently bottlenecks in the said project. He hoped that this year the figure of tourists will be double than the last year which in turn will help for boosting the economic conditions of the common people especially linked directly or indirectly with tourism sector.
Sagar also visited the Gunj Baksh Park and directed Floriculture Department for installation of lights in the park for making the park more attractive to the common people. He also paid obeisance at Astani Aalia of Makhdoom Mandav Kalashpora and took stock of the ongoing construction works. He directed the concerned officer for taking steps for rehabilitation of affected shopkeepers.
Meanwhile, a number of delegations met the Minister during his visit and apprised him of their problems..
The Minister heard their problems patiently and assured them that their problems will be solved on the priority basis.
