Nothing wrong in unveiling Hari Singh's statue today : DVM | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 31: A meeting of Duggar Vikas Manch (DVM) was held at Jammu under the patronage of its President, Dineshwar Singh Jamwal. In today's meeting, the issue of the unveiling the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh was discussed as a controversy has been raised by the National Panthers Party which has opposed the unveiling the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh tomorrow, which they claim amounts to humiliation and hurting the sentiments of the people of the State.During the proceedings of the meeting, President of the forum told that there is nothing wrong in unveiling the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh tomorrow which is coinciding with the festival of Ram Navmi. He further told that Maharaja Hari Singh himself was an ardent worshipper of Bhagwan Ram as he used to visit Raghunath Mandir in Jammu every year on this auspicious day of Ram Navmi and this is absolutely correct on part of the administration to select this important day for unveiling his Statue. He further stated that there couldn't have been a better example of composite culture of the J&K State as the statue of Maharaja shall be unveiled by the Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Gulam Nabi Azad, a Muslim himself and Dr. Karan Singh on Ram Navmi, one of the most auspicious days of the Hindus, as this shall be a perfect tribute by the State Govt Meanwhile, President Bar Association Jammu, B.S. Salathia has strongly protested the act of National Panthers Party in his conversation with Jamwal as he had told him on telephone that such acts by people who are trying to be relevant are simply to be ignored as they don't make any difference. |
