| Wani hails decision to take help of Sarpanches in assessing losses | | Damages due to snow, rainfalls | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 31: MLA Doda Abdul Majid Wani has hailed decision of the government for soliciting services of Sarpanchs to assess all types of losses caused in Doda district due to incessant snow/ rainfalls, during the winter season.
In a meeting held with the Relief & Revenue Minister Raman Bhalla, Wani was informed that the government has asked all Sarpanches of Doda district to work in close rapport with sectoral officers, revenue department officials including Patwaris, Girdawars, Chowkidars and Numbardars to make comprehensive assessment of damages caused due to snowfall and incessant rains in their Panchayats; so that the government has complete information about the losses occurred and a decision is taken for grant of compensation and undertaking restoration works accordingly.
Revenue Minister Raman Bhalla and MLA Doda issued directions to the District Development Commissioner Doda who was informed to closely monitor and expedite the survey of all types of damages with active involvement of Sarpanches and all sectoral officers. |
