JU students, scholars up in arms against striking teachers
JUTA urged to call off strike
3/31/2012 11:49:19 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 31: The scholars and students of Jammu University have condemned the attitude of University teachers launching complete strike in support of their demands in utter disrespect of their ethics and without caring for the future of students. Issuing a statement, the scholars and students have warned the teaching fraternity to desist from strike otherwise they will be forced to confront their teachers.
It is a matter of great shame that JU teachers have adopted wrongful mean to push their agenda. The University teachers are highly paid and arrears worth few thousand hardly matters to them. But the way they staged sit-in and shouted slogans in the campus have belittled their image and status. Their duty is to present themselves as role model to students and scholars instead of wild sloganeering.
For the want of just few thousands teachers are spoiling the precious career of the students and scholars. They must take into account that semester examinations are round the corner, which means their responsibility is to complete the syllabi first and adopt the path of agitation. But now they are hell bent to spoil the future of students.
Students and scholars are up in arms against the attitude of teaching community.
We warn the teaching community to start class work from Monday otherwise the students would confront teachers on the campus. The State Government, the Vice Chancellor, the Chancellor and the Pro- Chancellor would be responsible any untoward incident happened thereafter.
