| Anti-police protest after release of 2 accused in woman's "mysterious" death | | | Early Times Report
Jammu Mar 31: The family members of Suman Rathore, joined by relatives, today lodged a protest outside deputy commissioner's office at Kishtwar and blocked the highway, alleging that police had weakened the case of the death of the actress to facilitate the release of the accused.
Two of the three accused, who were apprehended by police for their questioning in the case, were bailed out by the court yesterday. Suman had died under mysterious cicumstances at her in-laws' house on March 15 last. While in-laws claimed she had committed suicide, her parents alleged that she had been murdered. The protesters alleged that police had weakened the case to benefit the accused. They raised anti-police slogans and demanded a magisterial probe into the incident.
The blockade was lifted by the people after about four hours after the administration assured them that a probe would be conducted into the incident.Suman's husband Kuljeet, Vinod and Surinder were picked up by police after the Suman's death. While Kuljeet was still in the lock up, the other two were bailed out yesterday. |
